Established in 1840, Harrison Spinks is a fifth-generation family business specializing in crafting hand-made mattresses with thousands upon thousands of pocket springs. There are no foams or synthetic upholstery layers, only generous helpings of natural fillings including cotton, wool, horsehair, cashmere, mohair, flax and hemp. These are the most breathable types of mattresses and offer unparalleled humidity management and hygiene over their long life span.

While we have offered mattresses in this category going back almost decades - what we refer to as 'luxury foam-free mattresses'. While there are other brands which also make excellent craftsman mattresses in this category, Harrison Spinks is a unique blend of high technology married to natural fillings and craftsmanship.

The micro spring technology produced by Harrison Spinks is truly world-leading, hence why they often refer to their micro springs as 'innovative' - the spirit of innovation is very strong with this company. Harrison Spinks manufactures their own pocket springs in-house with a glue-free system that is 100% recyclable The rest of the mattress is bio-degradable. The layering of these micro springs adds tremendous levels of resilience, comfort and support to the mattresses and luxury enhancers they produce.

The addition of the micro springs gives unmatched levels of comfort and control over the desired firmness to choose from. Harrison Spinks operates their own farm, just 18 miles from their factory in Leeds. On the 300-acre farm, they rear prize sheep and grow their own hemp and flax.
